It has been hard these days to
open social media like Instagram and leave it before we spend at least 10
minutes or more on it.
When we open reels then we spend
a least half an hour on it as there is a lot of entertaining and amazing
content that doesn't allow us to leave it and do our work.
So it becomes necessary sometimes to take hold and
have control over the time that we spend on Instagram.
Luckily Instagram provides a
very simple option to direct us towards 3 methods in its application itself to
take a pause over our addiction.
These three options send us a
notification about the amount of time we are spending on Instagram and we get
alert to do our important work.
How to Fix
Instagram Addiction?
Open the Instagram application
on a mobile device and select the profile picture at the bottom right corner of
the screen.
Select the hamburger menu at the top right corner of the mobile screen and now select "your activity".
On this interface, you get to know the average time you spent on Instagram last week per day's average status.
In my case, as shown in the banner it is 7 minutes per
day on average that I spent on Instagram. This was because I was on a Mumbai
trip for 2 days and was busy with office work for 4 days. Otherwise, I also
spend much of my time on Instagram.
Now as you scroll down you get three different options that allow you to notify that you are spending too much time and now it's time to concentrate only on your work or study.
Option 1: You can set a reminder to take enough breaks starting from 10 minutes to 30 minutes if your addiction to Instagram usage is greater.
Option 2: This option
provides to set a daily time limit of usage starting from 30 minutes to 3
hours.
You need to select the time and say "done"
Option 3: This one option
works more when youth have to get addicted to Instagram. This is about the push notifications users receive
when their followers upload some posts and Instagram stories.
Notifications should be
kept off for all "posts, stories, comments" "following,
and followers".
Also if one selects the "link" option instead of time then the user can see the links he visited last week.
In this way, one can stop
their Instagram application with the help of Instagram settings provided for
the user.
