Sonam Kapoor puts aside all the senior actresses: Says I was Fashion Icon at 20

Starting the episode Karan Johar says to Sonam Kapoor that what comes to everyone’s mind is the place she made for herself in the world of the fashion world.

Adding Karan says her fashion work beats everything else she has done and asks her further “Does these thing excites you, makes you nervous,, impresses you, on a certain level?” He asks her this because she would also be keen to be more known as an actress.

Sonam Kapoor replying to Karan’s question says what she believes is the biggest movie stars in this world are fashion ICONS.

She also provides examples of Audrey Hepburn (British Actress), Marilyn Monroe (American actress), Katharine Hepburn (American actress), Meena Kumari (Indian actress), Sharmila Tagore (Saif Ali Khans mother), Rekha, etc.

They were always fashion ICONS who put trends in place and the kind of movies I do whether it’s Ranjhana, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, I hate love stories; they are all real-life girls.

Sonam explains further this is one of the reasons her films do the business due to what her appearance explains to the viewers.

She explains a particular type of class of people who are more into reading vogue, watching coffee with Karan and these are the people who look her as a fashion ICON.

Karan asks her further if it bothers her as other actresses are the lead and not her?

Sonam explains this question as to the industries views that if you are a good actor but not good looking all the skills are appreciated and it doesn’t matter.

She adds about the television as it should not be called an idiot box anymore as there is always good content found there rather than some of the horrible reality shows that do good.

Anil Kapoor, Sonam, and Karan start to laugh as Karan says including my show I would like to take this as a compliment.

Sonam Kapoor doesn’t say anything directly about the other senior actresses but she means that she is a fashion ICON at a small age while others are called sometimes even after their death or in late age like ’40s.
