Let me start this with my story of sticking with alcohol. This was back then in 2010 when I was studying civil engineering at Baramati town and I used to stay at the college hostel. My best friend used to stay outside of the college campus and I visited him.
Although I knew he used to drink alcohol I said to him one day that I
was interested in drinking wine. His happiness had no words and he took me to
the wine yard and we both ranked wine that day.
This feeling was so amazing, I was all good in clouds until I figured
out that I got used to it. The next day he took me to Bhigwan and we ranked
royal stag and ate fish and now this became our routine. So used to drink once
in a week or two.
Years passed and so did my age and I fell in love with this woman I
barely knew. Shed used to flirt and talk with me and by then I had been an
alcoholic. I started drinking on Saturday, Sunday, and eventually on Thursdays,
and of course smoking was a part of it.
Then this began to trigger my mind to drink it every day, and the thing
became so bad, that I started drinking Imperial Blue 180ml + 90ml + beer can. I
realized that alcohol was not made for me, I was made for alcohol such was the
situation.
After this, I used to eat egg Bhurgi which is a local egg wrapped in
bread at the local stalls. This was my daily habit and started to suffer from
heat hives, and red bums on my skin that did not allow me to sleep. So this
girl betrayed me to work workplace and that day I met with an accident.
However, my life was saved, and started to realize how bad was alcohol
and what had it done to me already. It started with wine and ended up with a
mixture of Alcohol, beer, and cocktails.
This wasn't me I was very simple, a person from a very small town, my
family was poor we had faced financial challenges. This incident changed my
life forever and I quit drinking alcohol for the next 6 months. How do I get
this thing only once a month to be 180 ml at my home with water soda, snacks,
and a movie on my laptop?
Follow the below simple guidelines to quit drinking alcohol
1. Stop masturbating daily;
since it is not a good activity, it gives a sense of negativity which further
distracts the mind from drinking alcohol.
2. Avoid entertaining
any women at the workplace or college, since they talk with you so do they talk
with other people as well, which might get you in trouble.
3. Have evening meals at
6 to 7 pm, this makes your stomach full and you don't have to crave to drink.
4. Avoid such friends
who you used to go out with for a drink, this is the worst scenario since such
friends are plenty and they come out of nowhere.
5. Reduce smoking as
this is also a part that makes the body tired of doing anything and in the end, it demands an alcohol supply.
6. When you join a new
college or new workplace don't ever tell them that you used to drink alcohol or
smoke because this starts again.
7. Take some
responsibility towards your family; you can't drink alcohol as you have something
bothering you. If your wife or mother asks you to bring vegetables you don't go
to a bar and start drinking, this won't be a responsible person.
8. Even if the craving
to drink does not stop, try out eating your favorite meal outside that will
make you full and you don't have to drink.
9. Start saving money
for the future and be responsible, you have to pay for your children's
education and invest in gold or mutual funds or a term plan.
10.While returning home
from a hectic day at your workplace or college look at other people in the
traffic. Don't these people have tension or you are the only one? Do these all
people go to a bar and start drinking?
11.The last one which is
also the most important, exercise 30 minutes daily which should make your body
sweat like a bath. Do you remember in lockdown covid 19 we were only allowed to
go out for food and alcohol was banned which said that it was not required to
live a life on planet Earth?
12.Don't be a stand
buyer and take some action if you feel or if you are going through the same
situation. Also, remember don't put yourself in such a situation that will make
your life worse if you start drinking daily.
