Nick Jonas Shirt made out of Solapuri Blanket "Chaddars" attracts attention

The American pop star and the husband of Indian Priyanka Chopra Nick Jonas took this post to his Instagram wearing a fashionable T-shirt for an event out in St. Louis.

The actor took to his Instagram account posting “This was a hot one” Thank you all for an amazing show.

People recognized this as a Sholapur chaddar when they saw the Chatla mark on the shirt of his right shoulders.

Govardhan Chatla is a Sholapuri Businessmen who are in the power loom (Textile) business for a long time and almost every Maharashtrian family has used this type of chaddar once in their lifetime.

No doubt Nick Jonas has his popularity in the United States but he gained popularity in India after he married Priyank Chopra.

When he posted the photo his Indian fan following went crazy and started to flood the comments section with tags like “Sholapur chaddar” Sholapur blanket with love in eyes emojis.

Some of them wrote, “This shirt is literally made out of Indian Blanket” while some wrote “Sholapuri chaddar” with love emoji.

One user in the Marathi language added, “बॉश बरमोडा पण घ्यायची होती की नवी पेठ मधून दुनियाचं भारी भेटतयं 80₹ ला” which means you also needed to take a Bosch Bermuda which means “shorts” from Navi Peth in Pune only for Rs 80.

According to a report from Hindustan times, 20000 Power looms in Sholapur were manufacturing such types of chaddars in 2006 after the COVID wave only 16000 power looms are functioning.

Sholapur is also the hub of the power loom and major employment in the city is based on this Textile industry.

This chaddar was heavy weighted first but as per user demands the chaddar is also made light weighted as per the choice recorded by customers. This is specially used in winter seasons when there is a lot of cold weather and it provides relief.

Also, there were a lot of duplicate productions of Solapuri chaddars in the name of Chatla, after this post from Nick these would definitely help the business owners to help them make their identity.
